"The Little Mermaid" Movie Screening Event

On May 28th, 2023, we hosted a free screening of "The Little Mermaid" for 200 Black girls in the community!

Our partners, Cultured Books Literacy Foundation provided free copies of various "The Little Mermaid" books and Courageous Leap offered free swimming lessons. Whereas Black On The Scene, produced a sit-down interview with the attendees to unpack what the film meant to them.

Through a 2 month Go Fund Me campaign, we were able to raise almost $7,500 which went to the books, gift bags, face painting, food, theater rental, + more.
